Reconstruction of Upper Lansdowne Avenue

The City of Westmount will be carrying out infrastructure work on Upper Lansdowne Avenue in 2024. The work area is identified on the map.

The planned work is as follows:

• Replacement of the local sewer and aqueduct network;
• Replacement of the public portion of water entries;
• Replacement of fire hydrants;
• Replacement and repair of Hydro Westmount infrastructure;
• Redesign and reconstruction of sidewalks and street.

Since the City’s urban planning documents require an assessment of surface amenities when roads are reconstructed, the City of Westmount is proposing a three phased community information and consultation process that is supported by professional facilitators to identify the best reconstruction scenario.

The proposal is as follows:

1- Participatory Workshop on Community Land Use & Conditions for a Successful Construction Project (in-person) & Online Questionnaire – COMPLETED

• Details: November 2nd, 2023, at Victoria Hall from 6 PM to 8 PM.
• The questionnaire is available online between November 3rd and November 16th, 2023. The questionnaire is open to all interested participants, including those that were present at the in-person workshop.

2- Participatory Discussion Tables on Preliminary Reconstruction Scenarios. – COMPLETED

• Details: November 30th, 2023, at Victoria Hall, 4626 Sherbrooke W., from 6 PM to 8 PM.

3- Public Information Session to share the privileged scenario that will be used for the Upper Lansdowne Reconstruction Project. – COMPLETED

• Details: February 1st, 2024, at Victoria Hall, 4626 Sherbrooke W., between 4 PM and 8 PM, at your convenience. The information session will take place in an “Open House” format. Interested parties are invited to visit and be informed about the preferred scenario and the conclusion of the participatory process.
