Phase 4 marks the final stage of a five-year intervention plan implemented by the City to enhance and secure the urban tree canopy of King George Park. The plan aimed to restore ecological balance, ensure user safety, and strengthen the long-term resilience of the park’s urban forest.

This phase includes 13 tree removals, 29 maintenance operations on mature trees (including structural pruning and the installation of support systems), and approximately 19 new tree plantings, all scheduled for completion by spring 2026. These actions conclude the series of intensive interventions launched in 2021.

With the plan now complete, the City will transition to a new phase of tree management focused on regular inspections and targeted interventions, as needed, based on the evolving condition of the park’s trees.
