Summer Concerts, Westmount Family Day, Fête Nationale du Québec, Canada Day, etc., Westmount Park is the setting for many events throughout the year. These events are sometimes held in the gazebo. However, the current size and location of the gazebo impose many constraints for the holding of events. In addition, the electrical connections on the site are remote and very few in number, requiring the use of generators and long electrical cables during certain events.
To provide a multifunctional and easily accessible event space, it is planned to:
- Develop the existing site to create a natural amphitheater, taking advantage of the surrounding trees
- Remove the existing gazebo and install a new, larger gazebo near the comfort station building and away from the bike path
- Install an electrical system to facilitate the connection of sound and lights during events
The new event space will be able to offer the community several large-scale activities and events that contribute to the City’s vitality.
